Introducing the NEW Kiddyap©

The Kiddyap is a backpack-style child carrier designed for kids age 3-1/2 years and older, up to 50-60 lbs. It's designed like a saddle to be worn by an adult, that the child can ride just as they'd ride on a horse. It's 3-1/2 lbs light, and easy to wear! It's made of sturdy aluminum and washable fabrics. It works for big kids – they climb on just like a saddle on a horse! You put the carrier on, then kneel or sit on a bench to let them climb on. It's great for hikes, or anytime your preschooler would "run out of steam".
Before and After
As with typical backpacker-style backpack, it has a waist belt that fastens snugly around the waist, so that the weight of the child rests on the adult's hips – not their shoulders -- so you can carry them for long periods without tiring your arms or shoulders like you would carrying them piggyback or on your shoulders.

Before and After
The Kiddyap is the perfect solution for hikes, shopping trips, or theme parks when your preschooler would otherwise tire too quickly. It turns boring trips into a fun ride where the child feels included.

It's the perfect alternative to battling with a tired, bored preschooler. Just strap it on and let the child climb on themselves for a ride that's easy on both the child and the adult. The child sits high enough to easily see over the adult's shoulders, so they stay connected with what's going on instead of feeling left out and ignored. The ride leaves the adult's hands free, and places the child's weight on the hips for a comfortable and enjoyable trip.

This product is for children who are developmentally able to climb into the carrier and hold on for themselves -- usually at least 3½ years of age. The upper limit is what the adult can comfortably carry, as much as 50 to 60 pounds. It is not appropriate for infants or toddlers. If you have any questions as to whether this product would be appropriate for your child, consult with your pediatrician.
